4 Challenges in one!

Post number 2 for today! If you are looking for the latest StampInsanity Challenge, please scroll down to the post below! It’s a great challenge, so don’t miss it! Now, I don’t really have time to figure out which challenges can go with what from week to week, but for some reason, several of them just fell into place with each other this time around! But before I get into that anymore, let me show you my latest card: This is the Wild Flower Kids’ version of Alice. Ain’t she sweet? You can nab her over at Paper Craft Planet. The WFK challenge this week is to use Pink and Orange. I don’t know what it is, but lately I am drawn to the citrusy colors (which is so not my normal style!), so I had to play along with this challenge. Plus, my bud over at Smeared and Smudged , Kim, is having a photo challenge at her blog. Click HERE for the deets. The Whimsical Wednesdays blog wants us to create something that reminds us of Spring. The colors in this card are SO very Spring to me! And l

StampInsanity #7: Inspiration Pic

It’s Thursday again! Which can only mean one thing… It’s time for another StampInsanity Challenge! This week, we challenge you to work with this inspiration picture: Pretty freakin’ cool right? I love the look of the makeup (on the model and off) and that jewelry is so fantastic! But those colors are really what inspired me… Ok… so my blue is a little off… but you get the idea right??? Originally, I was going to focus on those bulls-eye jewelry; hence the use of my Nesties. But then I came across the other paper I used here… and it just came together in a totally different way! Which is totally fine by me, sometimes too much planning isn’t good right? Take a closer look at my girl Maddie: I used my beloved colored pencils once again… and I love how she looks. Isn’t that a rockin’ dress??? Here you can see all of the dimension on the card. The extra swirl is cut out from the same Cuttlebug D’Vine Swirl pattern in the large orange rectangle. Now it’s your turn! The Groovy Gurlz want

Bombshell Stamps Blog Hop!

I am so excited to be in my very first Bombshell Stamps Blog Hop! I am so lovin’ these stamps. They are a blast to color in, and some of you may already know, I have always loved pin-up art! So, let’s get right to it! Here was the challenge Kas gave us: So... Pretty In Pink – use pink, pastel, or spring inspired projects. Doesn’t sound like your “cup of tea” How about an 80’s inspired project… A lot of different ways that this can be taken…it’s up to you to do your magic. Need some more ideas? Check out some great quotes from the movie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091790/quotes And here is the prize that’s up for grabs! So I decided to go with an 80’s theme. I loved the 80’s! The big hair, the crazy makeup, the wacky clothes… ahh, memories! I used the Bombshell Angel image for this card. I think she’s so cool. And I think she’s lookin’ like she’s straight outta 1987 don’tcha think??? Here’s a close up: I used a lot of different markers from Sakura for this project. I drew on brigh

Macabre Monday #35: Walking Dead Divas

YES!!!!!!!! FINALLY! I get to play along with Macabre Monday again! The weeks have been flying by, and Barb has had some awesome challenges… and I SO wanted to play along… Alas, my time escaped me. The ideas were there, but the clock tick tocked too quickly for me… But not this time!!! Here’s Barb’s challenge: Ok, my little pretties... your challenge this week: Walking Dead Divas You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween page, project or card using images/sentiments of o-so-girly zombies!!   Blingy, pink, flowery (or not)... let's see those ladies of the day & night... uh... I meant that in a totally non-hooker type of way ;) Cool! Got it! Here’s what I created… How cool is this chick??? She’s from Stamp It Crazy , and I love her. She reminds me a lot of my sisters and I… her hair, her clothes, ok… not her skin so much, but get the idea. Here’s a closeup: \ I used colored pencils and some various Sakura markers to color this diva in. The “Princess

StampInsanity Challenge #6: Box or Frame

Hey everyone! It’s time for another super-cool StampInsanity Challenge! This week, we need to alter or create either a box or a frame. I decided to make a box! An Expolsion Box! When I had my store one of my instructors there taught it all the time. It was a really popular and fun class. But guess what? I had never made one myself before, until now! So take a look-see at my first stab at it! Hmmm, that’s an simple little box, right? Some cool, stripey paper, a Glimmer Misted top… what’s so cool about that??? BOOM! It explodes!!! It opens up to a full 12x12 sheet where you could add photos, ephemera, journaling, etc. But look who I have popping out! Pierette! Surprise!!! I stood her up along with one of Beth’s fab sentiments (both are from the Les Coquettes collection- available ONLY at Stamps Happen…click on the link in my sidebar!!!). Her colors were chosen by my clever little boy, once again. He loves helping Mommy with her projects! ;}I thought about adding more to the center, bu

Sepia Smokin’ Gun

Hello! I am sharing my latest Smeared Ink card with you today. I spent a lot of today cleaning my craft room (not quite done, but it’s gettin’ there!), and I wasn’t really in the mood to color when I finally sat down to create. I decided instead to give the images a sepia kind of wash, and age the heck out of it. Got my fingers all nice and inky! I used my Distress Inks, of course, in Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, and Black Soot. I used cosmetic sponges to apply the colors. I really like the way the distressing turned out! I used Walnut Gold and Black Gold Glimmer Mist on my background. And yeah, I’m totally obsessed with the “site” stamp so I am using it on everything! And I topped it off with my favorite border punch by Martha Stewart. Please click  on any of the photos to see them bigger! I hope you can see the glimmer here. It looks fab in person, but it is so hard to photograph! Have you seen all of the crazy stamp sets over at Smeared Ink yet? Terra just release

StampInsanity Challenge #5

Hello! Can you believe we are up to the FIFTH StampInsanity Challenge? Where does the time go??? This is a sketch challenge, and I’ve gotta say, I must have used my sketch mojo for yesterday’s post, because I had a heck of a time with this one! Take a look at the sketch: Pretty straight forward right? I guess because I was Hell-bent on using a Roder image I had colored in weeks ago, I had a tough time. I don’t know… check out my card and tell me what you think! First, I gotta say, I am SO lovin’ Roder! He is just too friggin’ cool! Check out that awesome hair! I can only hope that Nix can rock out his hair one day like this! A close up of the handsome fellow. He’s colored with colored pencils, of course! I honestly love how he came out. The colors worked out exactly as I saw them in my head. Just check out his hair!!! I think I used 5 colors in his hair alone! Remember, you can click on any of my photos to see them bigger! I thought this paper worked out perfect too… it was just tha

Friends Having Fun Sketch Challenge #1

Yes! I did it! I made my Friends Having Fun card! We are not supposed to be stressing about these challenges (hence the “Fun!” part of the name), but I really wanted to play along. I loved Dani’s sketches from Twilight Tuesday (which I still miss so much!), so I really wanted to make something for her latest sketch! Take a peek. Ain’t it purdy??? It is until you see my version! It’s a bit off kilter wouldn’t you say? But that’s how I roll! I had this image from Smeared Ink’s Chicks Dig Guns collection for a while now. I knew it would work perfectly for this sketch. I think that this is my favorite image from that collection. She’s really pretty, I love what she’s wearing, and that gun just nasties the whole “pretty as a picture” image up! I even left her socks white to butch her up a teeny bit. Here’s a close-up: She’s colored in with my Spectracolor colored pencils from Design. I stamped her on some cardstock that has little black flecks in it. I thought it gave it some umph. Th
