Twilight Tuesday Scrapbook Challenge #4: The Unflattering Side of Pregnancy

Yeah, yeah… I know… it’s a doozy of a title. I’m sure it’s giving some of you the willies just thinkin’ about what you looked like when you were with spawn..I mean child (I totally called the kids Spawn while they were in utero!)! You should know by now.. I like to do projects that make people think… make people feel… push the envelope a bit! So, play along with me won’tcha??? Here’s what I wrote on the TTIC blog:

Hello! It’s Alison bringing you the next Twilight Tuesday Scrapbook Challenge! Ok, hear me out with this one. Think of this as a celebration of the New Year. As a purging of the soul. As a way to get out the nasty feelings we sometimes have about ourselves that will make us feel better. I betcha you’ll feel a lot better! Spoiler Alert!!! If you have not read the entire Twilight Saga then STOP!!! Go finish it already ;) and then you can come back to read this post!

Bella looked like…well, she looked like hell in Breaking Dawn when she was pregnant. I think all women at some point (if not all) during their pregnancy that they just don’t look their best. That glow? Yeah, that’s just sweat! You know what I’m talkin’ about! This week, I want you to make a layout (with or without photos) about how you looked. Journal about how you think you looked.

No kids? Make a scrapbook page (again, with or without photos) about a time when you think you didn’t look your best.

Here’s what I made:

See??? If I didn’t tell you it was me, you’d never even know. C’mon… you can do this challenge!!! Click on the pics to see ‘em bigger!

Here’s what I wrote in the journal box:

While I was pregnant with Rhi, my poor body was so swollen! My ankles were as big a s thighs, my fingers as fat as hot dogs… I hated that my feet were so big that my socks didn’t fit. Missed wearing my rings on my fingers. Big & bloated- that’s what I was. It wasn’t pretty, but it was so worth it!

How nasty is my non-ankle??? Gross! I still can’t believe how huge I was! I had to wear Gene’s socks for cryin’ out loud! So there you have it. Me at the tail end of my pregnancy, sad and like a beached whale. But I am so glad that I took these photos, because I never would have remembered just how big I had become! So… what’s your story? Remember, you do NOT have to put in photos if you don’t want to (even though it would be so much more fun if you did!). Share with me, and the rest of the TTIC team! Can’t wait to see what you come up with !!!

Beautiful layout Alison! I had to chuckle at your choice of swollen for this... when I was pregnant with Evey my feet got so big I had to wear flip flops to work everyday because I couldn't get my feet in any of my other shoes. the other staff members were completely jealous as flip flops are a huge no-no for staff, lol. :D

Really gorgeous layout! I totally feel you in these pics, with my son I had to go up 2-2 1/2 shoe sizes because of all the swelling. Ah memories.;)

hugs,
Laura

Great layouts! I wish I took more pictures of myself when I was pregnant. I will need to find some. BTW, I saw all kinds of Twilight things at Wal-mart. They had cards and candy. All different kinds. Chocolate boxes and sweethearts. Different shapes and sizes. You need to check it out!

I loved how you did the swollen letters, such a great way to tie it all together! I'm sure you were still beautiful each and every moment of your pregnancy!

Christmas in July with Imagine Crafts & Stencil Girl!

Hello! Have you heard? The Imagine AIRs have been hopping with Stencil Girl! If you have been here before, you know I loooove me some stencils, so this collaboration was very exciting for me! The teams are hopping for 3 consecutive Saturdays, and this is week 2. I have the entire list of hop links at the bottom of the post. Be sure you don't miss anyone! I decided to to create an extra large gift tag with my new stencils. Using red cardstock, I taped down the Journal Texture #8 Stencil  and inked it up with Golden Glitz Delicata ink . I promise you, this is the BEST gold ink you will ever use! The Journal stamp only has 2 diamonds on it (it's a 4x4" stencil), so after I inked up the first pair, I moved over the stencil, lined it up, and inked again. Next I wanted to do something textural with the Urban Insiders Star . So I took some evergreen cardstock, taped down the star, and slathered on some yummy Iridescent Green Creative Medium . After the medium dried, I ga

Remembering Aletha

Greetings, Friends. This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honoring our incredibly creative friend Aletha . My card features the "Remembering Aletha" Sprite, which Mitzi (owner and artist of Aurora Wings ) created specifically for this hop. She is generously giving the digi away to all, over on her blog. This sweet Sprite looks so much like Aletha, and I know she would have been honored. If you download this digi for yourself, please be sure to give a huge "
