Sketch Challenge in Review Part 2

Good Monday morning! I have been sick with a gross cold since Friday, so this is going to be a short post, as my head is still in a fog due to lack of medicine (ah, the things we do to nurse our children!).

I chose to make a layout using Dani’s Twilight Tuesday Sketch Challenge #2.

TTSC2

It worked out perfectly for what I wanted to do…

IMG_8424

I really love this page. I love how clean the original sketch was, so I didn’t want to disrupt it with a lot of embellishments. Plus, these are some of my absolute fave pictures of Rhiannon, (I must have taken about 25 in this one sitting!) so I really wanted to just focus on them.

IMG_8425

And her shirt is just so rockin’! Remember to click n the photos to see them bigger! Cardstock is from Prism and American Crafts. “Cherish” stamp is from Heidi Swapp, and it’s embossed in silver. Marker is from EK Success.

Some of the other TTIC girls made projects for today too!

Donna Rebecca Beth Dani Margie Julie

Tonya (check her blog out this afternoon for her project)

That’s it for now…almost… remember to have your New Moon Experience Layouts up by tomorrow! Can’t wait to see what you’ve all made! Have a great day!

Smeared and Smudged Design Team

I am SOOOOOO excited!!! I have some awesome news to share! I am on a brand new Design Team! It’s for Smeared and Smudged, which is a place “dedicated to focusing on alternative art styling and unique ways to use rubber stamps. If you enjoy creating art using gothic, alternative, vintage, or out-of-the norm stamp images, you” belong with us!!!

If you’ve been on my blog for more than a day, then you probably realized that I’m not your typical crafter…. I like to do weird, creepy, and out of the ordinary. You won’t find too many super cute and sweet things here. Yeah, I do that stuff sometimes, but my heart belongs to the, well… the strange!

So I am thrilled to be a part of this up and coming group. I would love it if you visited the Smeared and Smudged Blog, and the Smeared and Smudged ning Group.

This is going to be so much fun for me, and I hope that some of you will join this rad group. With this DT, and the TTIC DT, I sure am going to have my hands full (in a good way of course!)… but I will definitely be crankin’ out some awesome stuff!!!

New Moon Layout Challenge Part 1

Happy Tuesday! The regular Twilight Tuesday Team is off for Thanksgiving, but if you recall, last Tuesday we mentioned that I had come up with a special New Moon project for you. Here’s what I wrote last week:

“Hey Twilighters! The time has come! The wait is over! New Moon is going to be released THIS WEEK!!!

I’m betting that a lot of you have big plans; I know I do! But here’s the thing, we at TTIC don’t want to just hear about your experience with the movie, we want to see it!!!

So pack up your camera and TAKE PHOTOS of your New Moon experience! Pics while you’re waiting in line, of you and your Twi-friends, and even the afterglow of seeing all your fave Twi-boys!

Then, pull out your die cut machines, your snazzy embellishments and make a layout! Journal about your night out! Show us those awesome photos! Scrap your movie tickets! Let’s all get scrappin’!!!

This challenge will be due on December 1st, so for those of you that aren’t going to see the flick opening night, you’ve still got some time to play along with us!”

So I wanted to share a layout with you from my New Moon experience, to maybe get your juices flowin’!

IMG_8327

My best friend Terry, my sis Pam (who many of you hopped with during the TTIC Blog Hop!), and I went to the “event” together. We saw Twilight at 9, then New Moon at Midnight… ‘cause really, we didn’t think there was any other way to do it! We HAD to see them both back to back!!! So we had to sit in line for a little while…

IMG_8328

We took some silly pictures, as you can see, and we chatted with a few of the, ahem, younger Twi-Hards…

IMG_8230

This is Anna, Kelly, and Erin (gosh, I hope I’m right!). These sweeties sat behind us in line and we chatted for a while. They were so excited about TTIC and the idea of being on my blog!

But back to my layout… I kept it real simple… I didn’t want to overwhelm the ridiculousness of the photos. We had such a good time goofing off. And that was before we even saw the movies!

So… your turn! Go and make a layout about your New Moon experience! C’mon! We wanna see!!! You have until Dec. 1st to get them up on TTIC. Have a fantastic Thanksgiving!

And make sure you go to Tonya’s Blog to see what she’s created!

PS: For those of you that thought I should put my new moon bracelet up in my Etsy shop… thank you! I did, and I created a blue version as well. Looking to do other colors as well… if anyone is interested in a specific color, please let me know! I would be thrilled to make a bracelet just for you!!!

Twilight Tuesday Sketch Challenges in Review

I enjoy working on sketch challenges from time to time. Especially when I can’t figure out what to do for a certain project… They can really come in handy! TTIC is doing a review of all of Dani’s wonderful sketches this week (regular TTIC is taking a break for Thanksgiving), so I wanted to share one with you today.

ttsc14_thumb1

I decided to use Sketch Challenge #14. But, I didn’t want to make a card. I have sooooo many layouts that I need to make, so I decided to turn this sketch sideways and make a scrapbook page out of it!

IMG_8272

Please click on the photo to see it bigger! This photo was taken in October. My family of four decided to visit a couple of local nurseries by us for their Fall Festivals. This is one of my favorite things to do in the Fall! So, here we are, Me and My Pumpkins, enjoying the day. The only thing I don’t like about this photo, is that Gene isn’t in it.

IMG_8273

Otherwise, I think it’s a really cute page! I liked Dani’s original sketch, but like I said, I have a ton of layouts to make. So, I will be focusing on layouts quite a bit for now. I’ll throw in some cards here and there, but I really need to get scrappin’!!!

Some of the other TTIC Design Team has come up with some great projects this week too. Why not go and check them out?

Margie Donna Dani Tonya Erica

A quick side note… Please be sure to stop by my blog and the TTIC blog tomorrow! A few of us will have layouts posted of our New Moon experience! They are meant to inspire YOU to make a layout too!!! More info on that tomorrow. Until then, have a fantabulous day!!!

Twilight Tuesday New Moon Blog Hop!!!

It’s here! It’s finally here! New Moon is out and ready to be watched by it’s bagillion adoring fans. By the time you read this post, I will have been one of the lucky ones who already made the pilgrimage to the theatre, to see not only New Moon, but Twilight again as well!!!

A quick reminder, I am participating in TWO blog hops today, so PLEASE make sure you check out both of my posts! The Artful INKables hop is after this post!!!

You should be coming to me from Joy Kennedy’s blog. If not, then hop over to Twilight Tuesday to start at the beginning!

On to my creation… You guys know I love making cards… and you know I love scrapbooking… but I just wasn’t feelin’ it for this hop. I wanted to go back to my roots. My first love. My jewelry. So I pulled out like 7 of my 16 bead boxes and got to work. I pulled inspiration from a bunch of places, but let’s take a peek at what I made before I go into the explanations, shall we?

IMG_8211

Please click on any of the photos to see them BIGGER!!! Then, you can see all of my precious baubles!

Ok. The inspirations. First, the color. I’m sure you have all noticed how brown all of the movie posters are (which is weird, ‘cause they’re in Forks, where everything is green!). I decided to stick to those tones for the bracelet. Second, the beach. A lot of time is spent over at La Push, and I could imagine Bella spending the day beachcombing with Jacob, searching for tiny treasures. Some of the items I used could have easily washed up on to the sand. I’ve got some freshwater pearl sticks, a bunch of wood disks and sticks, and some pieces that are reminiscent of sea glass. Third, have you been to Hot Topic lately? They have some ridiculously cool jewelry for New Moon, so that was an inspiration as well. Forth, I was thinking about Native American jewelry. They are often filled with tiny treasures given to us from Mother Nature. Kind of random stuff, all beautiful in their own right. I tried to recreate that here.

IMG_8213

I’ve actually never made a bracelet like this before… I had a blast making it… so I’m thinking about making some for my Etsy shop. What do you think??? Should I???

IMG_8214

IMG_8212

I am totally inspired now… I need to make more of these bracelets! But first… maybe I’ll watch Twilight on DVD! ;}

Now it’s time for you to hop on over to my sweet friend Jacquie! Make sure you show her some love!!!  Enjoy the hop!!!

Artful INKables New Moon Blog Hop

Happy New Moon Release Day!!! To celebrate, I am participating in TWO HUGE HOPS!!! So, please make sure you check out both of my posts for today!!!

Welcome to the third stop of the  Twilight Artful INKables blog hop! Make sure you start at the Artful INKables Blog, so you don't miss a single thing! You should be coming to me from my good friend (and fellow TTIC Design Team Member) Margie’s blog.
To celebrate the release of NEW MOON today, we're highlighting the Artful INKables Twilight inspired sets: Into the Moonlight and Fictionally Inspired. Artful INKables also has a set of Vampire Romance Themed Charms available! Artful INKables is also sponsoring Twilight Tuesday’s Hop that include Twilight Prizes!!!

I decided that even though I am positively Team Edward (I love Jake, don’t get me wrong… but I am ALL about the Vamps!), I should make a card for the Wolf Girls out there. Namely, my sister Pam and my Official Book Buddy Beth!

IMG_8208

I used the Twilight Tuesday Sketch Challenge #5 as inspiration. I of course, wanted to focus on using shades of brown, as all the movie posters are in the brown tones… but I needed to add a little bit of green to. They ARE in Forks for most of the story!!! But I needed to add a bit of shine too…

IMG_8210

Check out this pretty copper cardstock! I just love it! Plus, the bronze paper I used has a beautiful glimmer too.

IMG_8209

I think I paid fair homage to the Pack, don’tcha think? I love working with these stamps. I have made so many cards with them already, the possibilities are endless with them!

So, it’s time for you to hop on over to one of my other TTIC Design Team Member friends…Jen!!!

It’s Almost Time!!!

In less then 7 hours from now… I will be sitting in a blackened theatre, with my Sis Pam and my BFF Terry and about 100 oogling females. Tonight, we see Twilight at 9PM, and New Moon directly after at the stroke of midnight.

I am not one who normally goes to midnight showings… I don’t even like to catch a new flick within the first couple of weeks of it’s opening. But, this is different. I don’t get to go out too often, and as far as going to the movies? Well my friends, Twilight was the last movie I saw at the theatre! Hello??? That was like, a year ago! I needed this little bit of Alison time. Things have been pretty stressful around here, and what better way to blow off some steam then to see a bunch of vampires? Well I suppose I could think of a couple of other things that would be better… but we won’t go there. ;}

So the three of us will ride off in to the night, 2 of us decked out in some of our finest vampy attire, whilst our adrenaline pulses through us like heroine. We will be giddy like 4 year olds. Possibly obnoxious like 12 year olds. Definitely not acting our ages. but who cares? A movie is a place where you are meant to lose yourself. To fall in to an alternate reality. To dream about the impossible (wait… you mean there might not really be an Edward Cullen?!?!? Bah!). We are going to have a BLAST!!!

Yes, photos will be taken. For those of you who are avid readers of either my blog or TTIC’S, you know that I am issuing a special scrapbook challenge specifically for the release of New Moon. Bring your camera!!!!! Take a ton of silly and embarrassing photos of your friends. Make SURE there are photos of YOU too!!!

And tomorrow, be sure to check out both of the fang-tastic blog hops I will be in. One of course is for Twilight Tuesday. The other is for the exciting Artful INKables. Both are huge (TTIC has over 50 participants!!!). Both are exciting! Both have blog candy!

And then, it’s time to dish. Chat about the good the bad and the ugly (?) of this newest installment of the Twilight Saga. I cannot wait to rant and rave for months on end about it. Until then… see you on the other side of the New Moon!!!

TTIC #55 Monochromatic Color Challenge

Happy Tuesday! Just a couple more days until New Moon is theatres!!! Are you as excited as I am??? There are a TON of awesome things happening over at Twilight Tuesday. If you’re a Twi-fan… them you are going to LOVE what’s coming up! But first, this week’s challenge… thought up by sweet Eve. She asked us to create a monochromatic card using a Twilight inspired color. I actually thought that this was a pretty tough challenge for me. I never work monochromatically. I love mixing colors together way too much! But I’ve gotta say, it really came together quite nicely! Here’s my card:

IMG_8128

I had colored this fantabulous digi (Yes folks, I have tip-toed in to the digi world. Shhh! Don’t tell anyone I’m here!!!) from The Greeting Farm last week. I saw him and just HAD to color him! I mixed my own pearly paint using acrylic (Ceramcoat) and shimmer powder (Jacquard). The consistency of the paint is a little off, but I’m working on fixing it. Then it was all about the colored pencils!

IMG_8130

I love how it came out. I wish you could see the shimmer of his skin better, but it’s subtle…just how I wanted it. So after finishing, I wasn’t sure how I wanted to use him. So he just kinda hung out with me for a few days…

Then Eve’s challenge popped into my head. Perfect! I can do this! Monochromatic card… here I come! And so it was born.

IMG_8129

My other supplies are: paper- Prism, Reminisce. Tag- Basic grey. Brads- American Crafts. Ink- Ranger. Stamp- Artful INKables.

The rest of the Design Team has come up with some awesome projects as well!

Beth ~ Dani ~ Donna

Erica ~ Eve ~ Jen ~ Margie ~ Rebecca ~ Tonya

Julie is off this week

But before you go,I have another exciting tidbit to share. As I mentioned, New Moon comes out this week. Well, I thought it would be awesome to have a layout challenge scrapping all the excitement as you venture off to see the flick! So you need to go to TTIC to see this extra challenge!!! This is in addition to the blog hops we have going on! See? A TON of awesome stuff is happening!!! But I don’t want to make my post too long, so PLEASE head over to Twilight Tuesday for the scoop on my Layout Challenge and the Blog Hop!!!

Jasper Card

Woah! 2 posts in one day??? I think that’s happened only 1 other time! If you didn’t see my first post for today, please scroll down and check it out!!!

So, I’m in love with The Greeting Farm. I love the “Sprouts.” They are adorable! Which is so weird… I don’t o adorable. It’s just not really my thing. I like creepy and weird. Cute? Not so much. I’d rather see other people tackle cute. But TGF has won me over, and there ain’t no goin’ back!

IMG_8134

This little guy really inspired me. As soon as I saw him, I knew what I wanted to do. No challenges involved, just me and my mind. And, it came out exactly how I wanted it to! I really wanted the “Relax” to be soft and barely there… which I think I achieved!

IMG_8135

I wanted the colors to all be quiet and serene, except for his wild hair! Oh, little Jasper is colored in using colored pencils. I live all the options you have with them. You can layer and blend, or let the tooth of the paper show through as I did with his hair. I thought it added to the wildness. Weird huh? The crazy hair in a relaxing and chill card? But I like it. I think it works. Maybe you could leave me a comment and tell me what you think!

Don’t forget! Tomorrow is Tuesday!!! Come back for the latest Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge!

Stars Falls Designs

It’s the beginning of a new week. Not just any week… New Moon week! But surprisingly, that’s not what this post is about. I’m writing today about a gift I received. A very special and thoughtful gift.

My friend Julie (from TTIC) makes some of the most amazing cards I’ve ever seen. And I’m lucky enough to have received a couple of them, so I know first hand how magnificent they are. But, recently I got an unexpected package in the mail from her. What was inside? I’ll let the photo speak to you…

IMG_8131

This journal was not purchased. It was MADE. Not embellished. CREATED. From SCRATCH. Julie made this gorgeous journal for little me. It is a work of art.

IMG_8132

She cut the paper, bound it, stamped and inked… There is so much work that goes in to making a journal. And she was sweet enough to spend her time making one for me. Jealous? You should be! :} But here’s the good news! You can buy one of these beauties for yourself!!!

Just go to here Etsy store! And, you can take a swing by her blog and show her some much deserved love.

IMG_8133

Thank you Julie. This means so much to me. You are so very talented, and you’re an amazing friend!!!

Black Dagger Brotherhood Challenge ~ Zsadist, the Lover Awakened

It’s time for Fandom Friday again at Twilight Tuesday! This week we get to focus on Zsadist, the scary/cool Brother! There will be spoilers! Here’s what Beth wrote over at TTIC:

Zsadist’s story is told in the third Black Dagger Brotherhood book, Lover Awakened. Z is easily the most hardened of the Black Dagger Brothers. After being kidnapped from his crib, and his family (including his twin brother Phury) as an infant and sold into blood slavery, his life was irretrievably altered and his soul seemingly damaged beyond repair. Enter Bella. This is an incredibly intense story ~ and one that will run your emotions through the full spectrum.

Craft Portion: Create a project that captures the dichotomy that is Zsadist. Sociopathic killer, or damaged sensitive soul? Choose your canvas and run with it…

Comment Portion: Do you see Z as the soulless killer, or the redeemable antihero? He certainly invokes varied emotions from those around him – what do you feel when you read his story? Compare what you know of him after Awakened to the Brother we first meet in Dark Lover. Expand on this as much as you choose.

For my project, I actually came up with an idea pretty quickly. No need to go to the BDB fan site or anything!

IMG_8078

First off, Zsadist is scarred. Pretty badly. He thinks he looks horrifying. He had an absolutely tragic life from the time he was abducted as an infant. So, there are plenty of emotional scars too. But, as his story gets told, we find that there is good inside. Not just a little either, but a lot. Bella, his shellan, brings that out in him. So does Nala later on…

IMG_8079

I wanted this card to be masculine of course so I went with some discontinued Basic Grey and 7 Gypsies paper. I wanted the phrase to have a couple of emotions in it. “Beauty” is done with the “Twilight” font (no! I’m not kidding!) from Inkadinkado. “is on…” is from Time Flies, and it has a rougher feel to it. I used a golden color as my inspiration because Zsadist’s eyes are that color. Oh, and all the ink is from Color Box.

I loved reading Zadist’s story. I think he went through Hell and managed to come back from it. The change in him from book 1 to his own is incredible. The other Brothers seemed to fear him in Dark Lover. Whereas in Lover Awakened, they are now able to accept him and care about him. I could really go on for hours on these books so instead, why not hop over to Beth’s blog to see what awesome project she came up with! Then it’s your turn!

TTIC#54 The Raven

Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge. I am SO in love with this challenge… if I have time, I may have to make some other cards to go along with it. So what’s it about this week? It’s Rebecca’s turn and here is what she wrote:

Hey Twerds and Twihards! Its me {Rebecca} bringing you this week’s challenge!

In New Moon, we really get to know more about the “pack” and some of the Quileute traditions. In Quileute legend, the Raven is the trickster figure in Quileute Indian culture. His name is pronounced similar to bah-yuck in Quileute. (I found that tidbit somewhere on the internet!)

Raven is a shapechanger, who could assume any form – human or animal. The Raven is a clever and generally benign figure who sometimes helps humankind, but he also has many character traits that are viewed negatively in Quileute culture (greed, laziness, arrogance, deceitfulness, and rudeness) and many traditional legends have to do with Raven misbehaving and getting into trouble because of it. The tricks sometimes backfire, but in the manner of great fables – they offered life lessons for the young and old.

Your challenge: make a project that celebrates the Raven or any other Quileute legend (google it if you need some ideas!)

Comment section: Tell me your favorite fable or about the “trickster” in your life!

I LOVE ravens. I love crows too. Love them. I love that they’re a little creepy. I love that they caw instead of having a pretty song like most birds. I love the superstitions attached to them. My favorite movie is The Crow!!! No. It really is! C’mon! You shouldn’t be surprised about that!!!

Back when we did the Northwest Challenge, I actually used the Raven as my inspiration. Click HERE for my first attempt (which I really wasn’t fond of) and HERE for my second (which I did like a lot). But on to this week’s project!

IMG_8042

No, I didn’t give it a Native American feel (although if I have time to do another, that one will), I made it more goth. Creepy. More, well, me! The tree (Inkadinkado) and moon (The Metropolitan Museum of Art) are embossed in platinum. The crows (Inkadinkado) are stamped in black and popped dotted. I of course inked the edges of the card in Black Soot (Ranger).

IMG_8043

These are some of my favorite stamps (do I say that a lot?). There are just fantastic! The detail is amazing.

IMG_8044

As far as a trickster in my life? I would say that would have been my Dad, although I never saw that side of him. My mom has told me many a story about the trouble he would cause. Like… throwing a cinderblock over a bridge on to a boat. Yeah. He was like 14 at the time I think. He often played pranks on his friends. My mom said he was so sneaky. And, lucky for him, he was friends with a lot of cops…. so he never got into any trouble! My favorite fable is about Kokopelli, the flute player (which I am too!). I, for many years, stamped a Kokopelli on the backs of all my cards. I don't use him much anymore simply because I like to add my name... but I think I'll eventually get a custom stamp made with my name and my Kokopelli on it!

Now head on over to the other DT’s blogs to see what they’ve come up with!

Dani ~ Eve ~ Jen ~ Julie ~ Margie ~ Rebecca

*Donna will be sitting out this week’s challenge!

My Anniversary Gift to Gene

I had pondered for quite some time trying to figure out what in the world to make Gene for our Anniversary. I even started a thread with my beloved Twi-Girls about it! They were such a huge help! Now, I am armed with some really great gift ideas! But, I decided in the end to make him a layout from our Wedding. I used two of my favorite pictures.

IMG_7764

Gene and I had a Handfasting Ceremony. Know the phrase “tying the knot?” Well, this is where it comes from! See how our hands are bound? Click on the photo to make it bigger! It symbolizes the union of two people. It is supposed to remain tied forever. Our knot is now in a shadowbox with our Wedding certificate. So that’s where the title comes from. The other photo of us I love too. It’s just pretty and romantic. Plus, I have on my gorgeous cape!

IMG_7765

These ribbons are actually from the Wedding! I had some leftover (ok, a lot leftover!) from the bouquets that we made (yup, my Mom and I made ALL of the flower arrangements!), so I thought it would be really cool to use them. But, I didn’t want to just wrap the page with them. I needed more drama! So I made those huge swirls with them, and glued the in to place with Glue Dots. I also added some Prima studs for a bit more glitz.

IMG_7775

Here we are that night at dinner. We wne to this AMAZING BBQ joint called Smokin’ Al’s. We LOVE it there!!! Mmmm, wish I could go there right now! But yeah, a BBQ joint isn’t exactly romantic… so my “long lost sister” Tia suggested I add some ambiance.

IMG_7773

And there you can see a little purple votive holder with a battery operated candle! He was so surprised when I pulled that out of my bag! I thought it was an awesome idea!!! Look at HOW MUCH food we have!!!!

A toast! To my amazing husband. The next 5 years will be just as magical. As will the next, the next, and the next after that…

My 100th Post!!! Plus, an Autumn Card

Wow! I can hardly believe that I have actually gotten to 100 posts! I didn’t even want a blog a few short months ago… now, I’m so happy I have one! I love being able to share my creations, my kids, my thoughts…all of these things with you! Here’s to the next 100!!!

So I have been wanting to make this card for a certain someone for weeks now. Really. Weeks. I just didn’t want to do it in October, as I was focusing more one Halloween. I thought that this card would be better suited for November, as I am very thankful for this person. Plus, she’s not really in to the Halloween thing, so I wanted to make sure I gave this to her well after the Holiday. Plus, it just so happens to fit right in to TWO challenges that I’ve seen this week!

The first challenge was with The Pink Elephant Challenge #39. The challenge was to use Brown, Yellow, Neutral and Color of your choice. Cool. I’m in. The second was with Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC40). You needed to use a colored in image, texture and neutrals. Perfect! This is exactly what I wanted to use for this card!

Ok, so I do have more than one added color in the wreath, which may not be perfectly in line with The Pink Elephant challenge, but I think it still works. I LOVE this stamp. It’s from Inkadinkado.

I colored the wreath in with my fantastic Berol colored pencils. I embossed the image, adds a little texture and makes coloring the image a bit easier too!

I used the “Fabric” texture plate from Fiskars on my Prism cardstock. It reminds me of burlap, which I love for the Fall.

And of course I needed to add some fun and fabulous fiber! I love using eyelash yarn. It adds so much dimension, but keeps things soft and wispy.

Now, I’m off to write out the inside and send it to the recipient. I’ll let you know who it’s for once she gets it! Have a beautiful, and inspired day!

TTIC# 53: The Transformation

It’s Tuesday again! And this isn’t just any Tuesday… it’s the Tuesday that I get to pick the next Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge!!! Do you have any idea how excited I am?!?!?! Here is my challenge…

I am so excited to be bringing you my second challenge! This one is a little different, because you get the opportunity to make yourself the subject! Spoiler alert! Don't continue reading if you haven't finished the Twilight Saga!!!
In Breaking Dawn, Bella transforms from human to vampire. In life, we all go through changes...though not as severe as Bella's! What kind of changes have you physically gone through? Cut off all your hair? Dye it blue (like me?)? Nose job? Pregnancy? Lost a lot of weight? We just celebrated Halloween... did you or someone you know wear a costume that transformed them to being unrecognizable?
Craft Challenge: Create something that narrates a physical change you've gone through
Comment Challenge: Tell us about your change, or a change that you wish you could go through!

It’s no secret that I like to change my image pretty frequently. Most of you have seen the different incarnations of my hair! Well, it goes beyond just my locks… When I am of “normal Alison” size (i.e. my boobs aren’t heavy and swollen with milk, and my belly isn’t soft from being stretched by my unborn babies), I like to change my style all the time. Like daily. I mean, I have tried and true looks, but they’re just varied. I like to switch things up for myself a bit. I like to think it keeps me interesting. I think this started in the beginning of High School… I’ve gone from Goth (my fave look that don the most, ‘cause that’s the “real” me!), to Raver (which is such a fun look!), to more of what you’d see an artist living in Arizona wearing (if that makes any sense at all!). It’s fun for me. Yeah, maybe I look a little costume-y to some people… but it’s a way I can express myself. I like to have fun with clothes, and hair, and shoes… why not have fun? Why not stand out? Ok, off the soap box Alison… on to my project. One of the biggest changes I went through happened last year…

Yup! When I was pregnant with Baby Rhiannon! Click on the picture to see just how huge my belly was!!!

All I can say is holy cow!!!

So I used cardstock from Tinkering Ink and Prism. The TI paper has such fantastic patterns! I don’t usually work from just one collection at a time, I like to mix it up (big surprise, I know!), but this set of patterns was exactly what I was looking for with this page! I added stickers from Scenic Route, a brad, a couple of arrows and voila!

Here’s a spread I did back when I first started scrapping… I never even finished it! But, it was quite a transformation!

Again, click on any picture to see it bigger.

Ummm, I think that qualifies for a pretty big change huh? I think it was a pretty ballsey move. And I never tell people when I’m chopping off my hair. I love to see the shock on people’s faces! ;}

If I could change anything about myself…..??? Let’s just go with the extreme fantasy here huh? I would want to be like Bella. Yup, I’d want to be a vampire. Call me crazy, fine. I’ve always been fascinated with the vamps. I’d love to be one of them. Though I’ve gotta say, I’d def. be the vegetarian kind!

Ok, it’s your turn! Show me what you’ve done!!! And, make sure you check out the rest of the fantastic TTIC Design Team!!!
